Formerly located in the heart of San Diego’s gaslamp district, Chive set a new precedent for modern cuisine well before its time. Deconstructed typography was driven by an eclectic menu and its intriguing assortment of presentations. An austere and minimalist space called for a simplistic approach to the system. One-color solutions maximize print efficiencies on letterhead, take-away promotional items such as coasters, gift certificates and rubberband business cards. A classic identity system worthy of the HollisBC highlight reel.

Still a personal favorite past project. CHIVE was the proving ground that San Diego and the Gaslamp in particular was ready for a modern and forward dining experience and place to mix. Everything else came in it’s wake. Awesomeness prevails.
