Hay House Publishing asked HollisBC for an identity refresh for their “I Can Do It” conference series. I Can Do It Ignite! brings positivity to a new audience in an energetic, faster-paced series of author presentations. Inviting and upbeat, the I Can Do It identity plays with field and image, allowing customization for each location without losing a strong sense of the brand.

Mesa Lane Partners teamed up with HollisBC to create a fresh, unique identity for The LOOP, the first green luxury apartments near UCSB. Environmentally conscious without losing a contemporary edge, The LOOP explores logotype, iconography, & local vernacular to establish a well-worn, reclaimed aesthetic that captures the essence of Isla Vista’s beachfront community.

We were all budding artists in childhood, and we had the freedom to create every mystical creature and dream we envisioned. The early years were full of drawings that were hung in the kitchen gallery, where everything we made was welcome and immediately sold into the hearts of our loved ones. Guest curated by Christina Conway, Homeroom attempts to rediscover the nostalgia of youth and innocent creativity. Each artist for this exhibition found a piece from their childhood and reinterpreted it in their current style.

Release the Kraken

What’s the best way to celebrate Subtext’s 5th anniversary? Krakens, of course! For this epic show, we’ve been hunting down vintage aquatic-themed paintings for over a year now. Each artist was given a painting with a body of water in it, and then asked to “Kraken-ize” it by adding some sea monsters of their liking. A special thanks to Max Dolberg for photographing the event.

Charles’ work is influenced by unseen things, mysticism, physics, comics, ancient culture, animation, myths, and alchemy. The Noosphere is the collective unconscious transformed into conscious awareness.
